Letting Go: Kites. Sound. Animation.

On June 24th, Mental Fight Club presented Letting Go: a day dedicated to the powerful intersection of art, mental health, and community.

The day kicked off with a Movement workshop with Ariella and Renzo, in which we will explores moving from stillness to motion and the physical gesture of letting go.

We then experienced the process of kite-making, led by kite maker Ahmadzia, who discovered the joy of kites as a child in Afghanistan. We learnt traditional techniques of kite making and created a whole cornucopia of beautiful kites.

We also made our very own Letting Go animation with artist Wendy, where we explored the gesture of letting go through collaging and stop-motion animation.

Finally, we improvised a collaborative soundscape with singing lead Vivien to finish off the day.
