MFC Presents Letting Go: Kites. Sound. Animation.
Find the creative kite maker in you and celebrate the joy of letting go!
MFC is thrilled to present Letting Go, a special day dedicated to the powerful intersection of art, mental health, and community. This event is open to all ages and artistic abilities, providing a welcoming space to explore your creativity, connect with others.
2pm - 2:45pm: Letting Go Movement
We start our day with a movement session facilitated by our movement leads Ariella and Renzo, in which we will explores moving from stillness to motion and the physical gesture of letting go.
3pm – 5pm: Soaring Kites
Led by kite maker Ahmadzia, who discovered the joy of kites as a child in Afghanistan, this workshop will demonstrate traditional techniques and guide us in making a whole cornucopia of beautiful kites.
3pm – 5pm: Letting it be Animate
In a collaborative animation session, bring your ideas to life. Together, we'll create a short animation exploring the gesture of letting go.
5:20pm – 6:20pm: Letting Go Sound
Join Vivien to improvise a soundscape which will accompany the animation. Let your creativity flow and express yourself through noise.
* If you play an instrument you are invited to bring it with you to and add it to the mix. *
6:30pm – 7:15pm: Letting Go
Join us as the kites soar and the day culminates. We will lift our hand-crafted kites high, preview the animation accompanied by the soundscape we created together.
