On Wednesday 26th June MFC brings you the Dragon Café in the City project in collaboration with Shoe Lane Library and the City of London.  

Body, Breath, Word: Find your voice through our creative workshops…

12:15pm (30 mins): DIY Massage

Focus on yourself and learn how to soothe those aches & pains. With sports massage therapist Leonie Lawson.

In person at Shoe Lane Library and via Zoom.

1pm (60mins): Creative Writing: Climate & the Future

We’ll spark our creativity by writing about climate action and the future, with short writing tasks and imaginative free writing. The goal is pressure free enjoyment, whatever your experience of writing maybe. With Wordsmiths.

This workshop coincides with Fleet Street Quarter Climate Festival.

In person at Shoe Lane Library.

2:30pm (90mins): Relax & Create: Drop-In

Stay on or drop in for this self-led sociable afternoon, with origami, collage & Lego. Materials provided.

In person at Shoe Lane Library.

No need to register.

5pm (60mins): Drawing From Life

Join artist Shelly Wain to make swift sketches and longer drawings of a clothed model and each other. No experience needed. Top tips and art materials provided. (Next workshop on 10th July).

6:15pm (60mins): 

Finding Your Voice: Breath & Body

In this first of three workshops, we’ll explore deep and free breathing & making simple sounds with our voices. Relaxed, non-judgmental session with opera singer Ellie Popham.  (Next workshops on 10th & 24th July).
