The group setting allows each person to firstly build confidence by sharing work that they have created from nothing, and secondly to build empathy towards other people in their community by hearing their stories in their words. The goal is to enable a creative way to communicate and to understand thoughts and ideas whilst having fun.

5pm - 5:45pm: Something a (little) interesting always happens
We are joined by musician and composer Gawain Hewitt for a short hands-on participatory session exploring how he makes and composes music. Gawain will be focusing on the musical journey he undertook during the composition of a piece commissioned for BBC3 radio entitled “Scoring Mental Health” and inviting participants to again join him in creating a soundscape.
Patrons of Mental Fight Club participated in the creation of “Scoring Mental Health” in a recorded musical workshop led by Gawain in late 2022.
6pm - 7pm: Scoring Mental Health, a listening event
Mental Fight Club patrons are invited to attend a special listening and discussion event of Gawain Hewitt’s BBC Radio Three’s commissioned work “Scoring Mental Health". This Wonderfully insightful work blends original sounds created by people with lived experience alongside testimonials about the experience of living with mental health challenges. This Special session offers the opportunity to listen to the work in full, learn more about the process of its creation, and discuss the themes raised in the piece.
