Wednesday 8th November

House Plant Clinic. Writer’s block. Stretch…

We look forward to welcoming you to our eclectic mix of in person and zoom sessions.

On Wednesday 8th November MFC brings you the Dragon Café in the City project in collaboration with Shoe Lane Library and the City of London. Join us for a fantastic mix of events online and in person!

12.15pm (30 mins): Standing Stretch

Re-energise your day and stretch with Anya, Balance Garden. Wear your usual clothes.

In person at Shoe Lane Library and on Zoom.

1pm (60 mins): House Plants Clinic

Join Marta Lowcewicz from Barbican Conservatory for a short talk & house plants clinic. Bring your plants (or photos) to get expert advice on how to keep your house plants healthy. Looking after house plants is good for our wellbeing, so now’s your chance to check how best to look after them.

In person at Shoe Lane Library.

2:30pm (90 mins): Relax & Create: Drop In

Stay on after the house plant clinic, or drop into Shoe Lane Library for a relaxed, self-led creative afternoon featuring Lego.

In person at Shoe Lane Library.

No Registration needed.

5.30pm (60 mins): Writer’s Block

Let’s beat writers block together! Whether you have always wanted to write but didn't know where to start, or you have hit a rut halfway through your big project; join Wordsmith's for a sociable and creative writing session. All abilities and experience welcome. The goal is enjoyment, not wordcount.  Inspired by NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month).

In Person at Shoe Lane Library.

6pm (45 mins): Qi Gong

Combining slow graceful movements with mental concentration. It is said to help improve posture, strength, and respiratory function.  With Tony, Balance Garden.

 (8 Nov & 22 Nov).

Join all or just one session, no experience needed.

On Zoom.

7.30pm (75 mins): Unidentified Meaningful Objects

Make small, wrapped objects with hand stitched fabrics. Conceal or reveal your concerns in the meaningful objects you make. Explore methods of building up layers of fabrics and found objects, as you learn creative processes from artist Cas Holmes. (8 Nov & 22 Nov)

On Zoom

Next time: Dragon Café in the City on Wed 22 Nov includes lunchtime DIY massage & make your own herbal body wash. Plus, via zoom Qi Gong and stitching art.
