Dragon Café In The City Online Workshops

A day inspired by sound - Draw. Listen. Make. Sooth.

Due to electrical works at the library all our sessions are via zoom.

Put a spring in your step with our zoom sessions designed to lift your mood, stretch your body and encourage creativity Via zoom, so you can join us from wherever you are.

12:00pm – 12:30pm - Self Massage

Ease tension from your body and destress with self massage. Sports massage therapist Leonie Lawson will show you how. Have massage oil or lotion.

1pm – 2pm: Seeing Sound

Join artist Vanessa Lawrence in our lively drawing from music & sound workshop.   Discover inspiration from contemporary and master artists that have taken their cue from sweet serenades, rousing opera & soulful pop.

Materials: large loose sheets of paper or sketchbook, pencils. Graphite & ink optional.

3pm- 4:30pm - Read and Relax: Music and Lyrics

Join Shoe Lane Library to chat about poetry in the music we like to listen to and read some extracts. What songs and lyrics have had the biggest impact on you?

 

6pm- 6:45pm- Slow Stretch NEW:

Shake off the tension at the end of the day with this new workshop led by Marina, Balance Garden. Start off with some easy breathing exercises, then move onto a relaxed blend of standing and seated stretches designed to increase flexibility and sooth the mind. No experience necessary.

7.30pm – 8.30pm: Mini Books

Join artist Tracey Bush to make instant origami ‘Mini Books’. Using simple folding and cutting techniques you can make a book from a single sheet of paper! The resulting book can be used to make notes or sketches. 

Materials: A4 or A3 paper 100gsm max, scissors, glue stick, bone folder or ruler, pencil.
